Should you give baby vitamin C?

I don't think babies should be getting extra vitamin C in man-made forms. Whether you are breastfeeding or bottlefeeding, there are a load of vitamins there. If you are still breastfeeding, he will have a better chance against flus because breastmilk aides the immune system!
I agree with the 1st poster - make sure he is still getting his greens and oranges. If he don't like them, just mash them up with something tasty e.g. potatoes.

The healthiest people can get hit by the flu though, so best prevention would be to teach any other older children about basic hygiene; washing hands after blowing noses, coughing, covering mouthes while coughing e.t.c. If he does get end up getting the flu though, he will get through it and his immune system will be stronger.

You can't really overdose on vitamin C, your body will just get rid of it. However in excessive amounts it can cause diarrhea and in some people difficulty sleeping.

Of course the best thing to do is to eat a lot of vitamin C rich foods, but if you are worried about his diet you can get ascorbic acid powder at most grocery stores (in the canning section), bulk food stores, vitamin/herb shops, and some drugstores have it behind the counter (because it is sold by weight).

The dosage would be very small, I think 1/4 tsp = 1,000 mg of vitamin C which is easily how much an adult needs in a day.
